Abstract
PURPOSE:To detect knocking with high accuracy, by detecting only the pulsating pressure corresponding to the knocking in the AC type response to the working of a diaphragm to the cooling water pressure. CONSTITUTION:A hemispherical magnetic diaphragm 202 works with high responsibility by the composite pressure of the pulsating pressure corresponding to knocking and the static pressure. Accordingly, a gap G between the diaphragm 202 and a center magnetic path 206 varies. Then a current is produced at a coil 207 in accordance with the change of the magnetic flux, and only the pulsating pressure corresponding to the knocking is detected in the AC type response to the working of the diaphragm 202. In such way, the knocking is detected with high accuracy.
