Abstract

PURPOSE:To detect the inclined angle of a vertical axis precisely by providing a slit board, a light source part illuminating the slit board and a projection lens projecting the slit width of the slit board on the light-receiving part of the line sensor. CONSTITUTION:In the detector, a board 4 is fixed to a rotary shaft 3 which can be rotated by bearings 1 and 2, while being fitted with the slit board 6 consisting of transparent and opaque parts having equal width in the direction vertical to the longitudinal direction. The slit board 6 is illuminated by a diffused light from a light source 8 and the slit pattern thereof is projected on the light- receiving part of the line sensor 10 by the projection lens 9. When the main body part is inclined at a minute angle, a relative positional change is caused between the slit board 6 and the line sensor 10 and, as the result, a value corresponding to the change in the inclination of the main body part can be detected accurately as the positional change of the light-receiving part.
