Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable to burn fuel with extremely low noises, by making flame quiet and weak by the interaction of a restrictor plate and air ports formed in a secondary flame retainer, and regulating the flame flow by currents of air issued from the peripheral portion of an opening formed in the secondary flame retainer.
CONSTITUTION: Flow of combusting air f is divided into three parts shown by arrows a, b, c shown in the drawing, by the function of a restrictor plate 7. When air passes through the restrictor plate 7, pressure difference is produced due to difference in the sectional area through which air passes, and pressure between air flows b and c becomes negative to that of air flow a, so that a negative pressure region is developed there. At the same time, air d issued from air ports 11 is carried into the flame at a higher pressure than that of air passed through the restrictor plate 7, so that a pressure difference is produced between the air ports 11 and the restrictor plate 7 and a flame retaining region is formed for drawing the flame toward a section B between the air ports 11 and the plate 7, thus forming a flame retaining region including the turbulent flame region at the front of the plate 7. On the other hand, air e ejected from ports 12 formed in the peripheral portion of an opening envelops the flame for forming laminar flame flow at the outer portion of the flame.
