Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase the strength of an underground structure, suppress the development of cracks, prevent the leak of water, and smoothen the transmission of stress between parts by a method in which PC plate and concrete slab are strongly connected with each other by PC steel material and a prestress is introduced into the concrete slab.
CONSTITUTION: A large number of precast plates (PC plates ) 12 are penetrated into a trench excavated by using mud water to construct an underground wall 14. After the mud water is solidified, the ground between the walls 14 and 14' is excavated, and then in the neighborhood of the bottom 20 of the trench, one ends of prestressed concrete steel material (PC steel) 24 surrounded by a coupler 16 and a sheathed tube 22 provided in the wall 14 are connected with each other for setting. The PC steel material 24 has such a shape that upwardly and convexedly bent portion 26 is formed and its ends are upwardly turned. Iron bars are set in the bottom 20 and concrete is placed to form a bottom plate 28. After the bottom plate 28 has set, the PC steel material 24 is tensed by a jack and its ends are fixed to the bottom plate 28. A prestress is introduced into the bottom plate 28.
