PURPOSE:To produce backing of high strength for lithographic printing original plates by immersing a cold rolled steel plate in an Si-contg. zinc hot dipping bath, spraying fine water droplets before the molten Al solidifies to erase spangles then subjecting the same to cold rolling. CONSTITUTION:A cold rolled steel plate 2a is drawn out from a payoff reel 5, and is applied with an annealing and reducing treatment 6, after which it is immersed in an Al plating bath 7 contg. 1-10% Si.
