Abstract

PURPOSE: To straighten the sizes of flanged cylindrical sintered parts with good accuracy without producing gallings and flaws by setting said parts in dies, and passing guide rods from the lower side and core rods for straightening from the upper side into the through-holes of the parts.
CONSTITUTION: A sintered part 1 is set in a die 2 for flange, and a guide rod 5 is passed into the through-hole 1b of the part 1 from the lower side of the dies 2, 3, whereby the part 1 is positioned. In this case, the rod 5 is forced upward by means of the spring 7 in a cylinder 6. A core rod 9 for straightening is then inserted into the hole 1b from the upper side of the dies 2, 3, and an upper punch 8 is lowered. Then, the bottom face of the part 1 contacts with a lower punch 10, and the part 1 is straightened under pressure by the dies 2, 3 and the rod 9 so as to conform to their shapes. At this time, the part 1 is aligned of center with the rod 5 and therefore, the production of gallings and flaws is obviated.
