Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:A compound shown by the formulaI(X is halogen, lower alkyl, or haloalkyl; Y is O or S; n is 1 or 2; R is alkyl, alkenyl, or phenyl).
EXAMPLE: 1-[N-(2-Methyl-6-nitrophenyl)-2-n-propoxyacetimidoyl]imidazole.
USE: An agricultural and gardening fungicide. Exhibiting improved disinfecting and controlling effect on various kinds of blights of plants, especially crop seeds, having no phytotoxicity. Having improved effect especially on gray mold, downy mildew, and powdery mildew of vegetables, scab of apple, Bakanae disease and helminthosporium leaf spot of rice plant seed.
PROCESS: A compound shown by the formula II (Hal or halogen) is reacted with imidazole in an inert solvent in the presence of an acid binder, to give a compound shown by the formulaI.
