Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the capacity of hydraulic power by installing variable guide vanes to the runners of high pressure stage and by providing stationary guide vanes to the runners of low pressure stage and by establishing the 70W80% opening ratio of the stationary guide vanes to the maximum opening ratio of the variable guide vanes.
CONSTITUTION: Variable guide vanes 2 are installed to the runners of high pressure stage. Stationary guide vanes 4 are provided in the runners of low pressure stage. The opening ratio (n) of the stationary guide vanes to the maximum opening of the variable guides 2 is established between 70 and 80%. This construction allows the flow rates of each runner to be accurately controlled, thereby enhancing the capacity of hydraulic power of pump turbine.
