Abstract
PURPOSE: To surely detect a jam in a jam detector for a copying mechine or the like, by providing the first timer, operating in accordance with a conveying time for a detected section, the second timer, operating in accordance with an interval of recorded materials, and a memory storing a number of sheets within the section.
CONSTITUTION: When plural sheets of recorded materials are conveyed at a prescribed interval, a jam of the leading recorded material can be detected in such a manner that the first timer 11 is started by the signal of a sensor S1 to detect the leading material if reacing a sensor S2 or not within a preset time in accordance with the conveying time of a detected section. If the succeeding recorded material comes into the sensor S1, each of the signals is added to and stored in a memory 13, if an incoming number of sheets are stored by detecting the rear end by the sensor s2, the second timer 12 is started and the succeeding recorded material is decided normal if detected by the sensor S2 within a preset time in accordance with the time interval, then the second timer 12 is reset and subtracted from the memory 13, if the number of sheet is stored, the second timer 12 is again started.
