Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable to improve the pump efficiency by a method wherein an impeller is fitted in the hollow cavity of a casing so as to prevent the secondary flow to produce vortices in the casing from being generated.
CONSTITUTION: When the impeller 6 is rotated, the drain flowed in from a suction port 2 is discharged from a discharge port 3 owing to the centrifugal force given by the impeller 6. Because the impeller 6 is fitted in the hollow cavity of the casing 1, the fluid flowed in from the suction port 2 enters directly into the flow passage between pump blade members 8, resulting in preventing the secondary flow to produce vortices in the casing 1 from being generated and as well as, because 1 is made fluid-tight, the pressure in the casing 1 is raised, resulting in improving the pumping efficiency.
