Abstract

PURPOSE: In bonding rubber to a fibrous material, to provide powerful bonding strength, by using an aqueous solution of resorcinol-formaldehyde resin in combination with an organic solvent solution or a water dispersion of sulfohalogenated polymer.
CONSTITUTION: The desired bonding is carried out by using (A) an aqueous solution of resorcinol-formaldehyde resin and (B) an organic solvent (preferably a reaction product of sulfohalogenation reaction in a halogenated hydrocabon) or a water dispersion (preferably an alkali metal carboxylate type emulsifying agent is used as the emulsifying agent) of sulfohalogenated polymer (preferably sulfochlorinated polyethylene, more preferably sulfochlorinated polyethylene having a density of ≤0.94g/cm3).
USE: For bonding ethylene propylene diene copolymer rubber, isobutylene isoprene copolymer rubber, etc. to fibrous material, e.g., fibers, fabric, etc.
