Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the title composition with high bonding potential, comprising a polypropylene modified product to which a specific amount of maleic acid is added prepared by the reaction between polypropylene, a rubber, and maleic anhydride using a radical generator in the absence of any solvent. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition can be obtained by incorporating (A) a polypropylene modified product ot which 1-15wt% of maleic acid is added prepared by the reaction at 150-250 deg.C for 5-30min. in the absence of any solvent between (1) 100 parts by wt. of isotactic polypropylene, (2) 0.5-20 parts by wt. of a liquid or solid rubber, (3) 3-50 parts by wt. of maleic anhydride, and (4) 0.1- 5 parts by wt. of a radical generator such as an organic peroxide or hydroperoxide, with (B) another polyolefin resin. For use in adhesives, said modified product is incorporated in an amount of 1-40wt%, for coatings, >=20wt% of the product is compounded. Furthermore, a molded product of high mechanical strength can be made by incorporating an appropriate amount of an inorganic filler in the composition of this invention.
