Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare a modified polypropylene having excellent paintiability, adhesive property and dyeability, by melt-mixing a polypropylene resin with a solid rubber, an unsaturated carboxylic acid (derivative) and a radical generator.
CONSTITUTION: A modified polypropylene is prepared by melt-mixing (A) 100 parts by weight of a polypropylene resin with (B) 0.5 - 20 parts by weight of a solid rubber (e.g. 1,4-polybutadiene), (C) 0.5 - 5 parts by weight of an unsaturated carboxylic acid or its derivative (e.g. maleic anhydride), and (D) 0.01 - 5 parts by weight of a radical generator (e.g. benzoyl peroxide).
USE: Useful as various industrial parts, ordinary utensils, building and construction materials, etc..
