Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide bilirubin measuring reagent with reaction rate and chromophoric property being significantly raised, by a method wherein the reagent contains stabilized diazonium salt, hydrochloric acid, aniline derivative in nucleus- substitution by electrophilic group and accelerating agent if required. CONSTITUTION:Direct bilirubin measuring reagent is constituted by hydrochloric acid of 0.01-0.1 N, stabilized diazonium salt (e.g. p-sulfo benzene diazonium chloride stabilized by 1.5-naphthalene disulfonic acid) of 0.05-1.0 millimole/l, and aniline derivative of 0.1-20 millimole/l in nucleus-substitution by electrophilic group (e.g. nitro group, alkyl group, aryl sulfonyl group). Stabilized diazonium in this constituent acts to suppress influence of bilirubin indirectly and raise the reaction rate and chromophoric property significantly, thereby the measuring is effected accurately and rapidly.
