Abstract
PURPOSE:To transfer electric current uniformly in an electrode assembly by using plural sheets of electric current collectors of successively smaller apparent plane areas and laminating and pressing these in such a way that the area is smaller the further from the electrode surface at the stage of press fixing the current collectors on the electrode surface. CONSTITUTION:Plural sheets of current collectors are used in accordance with the size of the apparent plane area of an electrode, and for example, the mesh number of the current collectors are made larger the further from the electrode surface. In the case of net-like bodies, the wire sides of wire-like bodies are made gradually larger. The apparent area of the current collectors is decreased as it goes further from the electrode surface, and the current collectors are laminated and pressed concentrically with respet to the center of the plane part of the current collectors by assuming a similar figure. It is desirable that the current collectors are gas and liquid permeable, and proper perforated bodies or net-like bodies are usable. It is adequate to employ about 0.2-2mm. thicknesses, about 20-90 opening parts and about 30-85% average porosities for both cathodes and anode sides.
