Abstract

PURPOSE: To solve problems such as construction cost and maintenance by charging starting materials into a blast furnace from the top through a wear resistant gas feeding pipe connected to a blower.
CONSTITUTION: Starting materials are fed to a conveyor 2 from ore storing tanks 1 by a fixed quantity, conveyed to a hopper 4 through a conveyor 3, and carried to the turning hopper 9 of a blast furnace 6 through a gas feeding pipe 5 lined with a wear resistant coat of polyurethane or the like. The volume of air fed by a blower 7 through the pipe 5 is increased or decreased in accordance with the amount, specific gravity, etc. of carried starting materials, and in order to increase or decrease the volume, the blower 7 is controlled with a controller 8.
