Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate a superimposed image having uniform density to be formed, by using a specified recording material and a specified exposure system. CONSTITUTION:A recording material is formed by providing on a substrate a photosensitive layer consisting of (a) a dye of leuco compound, such as aminotriarylmethane; (b) a hydrogen donor, such as polyethyleneglycol; (c) a photoreductant, that is, a substance producing a reductant on irradiation visible light in presence of the hydrogen donor, such as quinones; (d) photooxidant, that is, a substance developing the color of the leuco compound dye on irradiation of ultraviolet ray and simultaneously reacting with the reductant and losing oxidative ability, such as hexaarylbiimidazole; (e) an acid, such as paratoluenesulfonic acid; (f) a binder. The recording material is successively exposed to the ultraviolet ray of a negative image and the visible light of a positive image, and then, uniformly irradiated by the ultraviolet ray to form a positive superimposed image.
