Abstract

PURPOSE: To remove a disturbing substance of a methane fermentation and perform the methane fermentation stably by preparing a cellulose type oil, which is formed by thermally-decomposing municipal wastes, into 9W12pH, and supplying said oil into a methane-fermenting vessel after aerated it.
CONSTITUTION: A cellulose type oil (C-oil) cacumulated in an accumulating vessel 21 is prepared into 9W12pH in a pH adjusting vessel 23 by adding an alkaline agent such as sodium hydroxide, calcium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide. Then, in an aeration vessel 25, said C-oil is made to contact with air sufficiently, and, in a methane-fermenting vessel 27, it is digested anaerobically by an anaerobic digestive germ which has full activity at about 35°C or 50W55°C, thereby, a decomposed gas containing methane as the principal component is formed. Said gas is desulfured through a desulfurizer 30,thereafter, it is stored in a gas-accumulating tank 29. A treated liquid turning out from the vessel 27 is induced into a settling vessel 28, and then, it is separated into the supernatant and the precipitate 31.
