Abstract
PURPOSE:To make the density of a pressed article of raw powder materials uniform and improve dimensional accuracy by lining a rubber mold on the inner side of a metal flask of a prescribed shape and size and making the spacing between the same and the metal flask tightly sealable and make evacuation possible in an isostatic press method. CONSTITUTION:A core 2 is inserted into a metal flask 1 of a prescribed size, and a cavity 3 having a desired shape taking the wall thickness of a rubber mold 4 prior to pressure molding of powder for molding into consideration is formed. Next, the thin rubber mold 4 of 0.01-10mm. wall thicknesses is installed in the cavity 3. The spacing between this rubber mold 4 and the flask 1 are tightly sealed, and air is released through an air release hole 5 to create a vacuum state and to adhere the mold 4 tightly to the metal flask, thereby forming a precise shape and size to the mold 4. Next, powder 6 for molding is packed into the cavity 3, and a top cover 7 is put on, after which hydraulic pressure is exerted between the flask 1 and the mold 4 to press the powder 6 with the mold 4, whereby the molding of superior dimensional accuracy and uniform density is produced.
