Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent collected dust from rescattering into liquid by changing over the voltage applying state between electrodes during back feeding of the liquid to the lower one to the extent of not breaking down air insulation.
CONSTITUTION: While liquid to be purified is being fed into a case 22 by a liquid feed pump 25, the contacts (b) of relay contacts 34A and the contacts 24A of a safety device 24 are held closed and the contacts (a) of the relay contacts 34A are held open; therefore, high voltage is applied between electrodes 23. Hence, the liquid in the case 22 is removed of dust, after which it is taken out as clean liquid from a take-out pipe 28. When a back feed pump 29 is operated for the purpose of maintenance and inspection, etc., the contacts (a) of the relay contacts 34A are closed upon starting of the pump 29; therefore, low voltage is applied in succession between the electrodes 23, and the dust which is being sucked to the electrodes 23 during normal operation is still kept sucked. Accordingly, the rescattering of the once picked up dust into the liquid does not occur.
