Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the inconvenience caused by the fact that a changeover switch to the automatic diagnosis program is not turned off carelessly, by giving working of a prescribed time to an automatic diagnosing device that detects a fualt of a copying machine and gives the countermeasure to the fault. CONSTITUTION:An automatic diagnosis program is fed into a copying machine to separate the component elements in a copying system from the system and has prescribed discrete working to perform a maintenance and inspection. Then the selected component elements are driven for a prescribed time to ensure an automtic diasnosis. The signal set by an input circit 1 is read through a selecting circuit 2 to select the corresponding output circuit. The start signal produced from a starting circuit 4 is held at a latching circuit 7 to actuate a selected output circuit 3a. A timer circuit 5 is started simultaneously, and the working of the output circuit is discontinued when the time is out. This control is also possible by a computer.
