Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent the sulfuric acid dew-point corrosion of a heat exchanger such as an air preheater due to a low-temperature combustion exhaust gas, by a method wherein the effective heat transfer area of the heat exchanger is changed by means of passage are regulators disposed at the inlet and the like for a heat-exchanging fluid.
CONSTITUTION: At an inlet 3 for a low-temperature fluid Fl flowing through a duct 7, a passage area regulator 2 comprising baffle plates 8 movable in the direction perpendiuclar to the flow of the low-temperature fluid Fl is provided. By changing the passages area B by means of said regulator 2, the effective heat transfer area A of a heat exchanger 1 is changed. In addition, because a similar apparatus 2 is provided at a high-temperature side fluid outlet 6, the outlet temperature of the low-temperature side fluid Fl and the high-temperature side fluid Fh can be regulated by the apparatuses 2 respectively.
