Abstract

PURPOSE: To form a uniform film on the surface of a small-sized tube or rod, in high yield and reproducibility, by drying the coating of an insulation tube or rod dip-coated with electrically conductive paste, etc., under especific conditions of rotation and temperature prior to baking.
CONSTITUTION: A ceramic or glass insulation tube 1 (or rod 1') having an outer diameter of about 0.2W0.6mm and an inner diameter of about 0.1W0.4mm, is dipped in an electrically conductive or glass paste. The dip-coated tube 1, etc. is fixed to the flat plate or rod 5 attached perpendicularlly to the shaft 4 of the motor 3 so that the extension of the axis of the tube 1 crosses the shaft 4. The length l is made ≥ about 7 times the length of the tube 1. The tube is dried by blasting air at 50W400°C for 10secW1hr while rotating the motor at 300W2,000rpm. A uniform film can be obtained by the rotation, the solvent is evaporated by drying, and the sagging of the coating film is stopped by the following baking process. The dried tube 1 is removed from the shaft 4, and baked at 400W1,800°C.
