Abstract

PURPOSE: To enalbe highly efficient bending work without making trial bending by providing a bending angle controlling device that automatically controls the distance of approach of a punch and a die in a press brake.
CONSTITUTION: To control the condition of connection of a punch 5a and a die 7a of the body 1 of a press brake by the bending angle A of a work, necessary data such as the width V of the die 7a, thickness T of the work, bending length B, tensile strength S etc. to the control board 87. Pressure BF of an apron of movable side at the time of bending is calculated from these data, and actual pressure BF1 is calculated basing on this and the angle A. Then, correction value δ relating to mechanical characteristics of the body 1 and the force BF of elastic characteristic of the work is calculated, and calculation is made from this and above-mentioned V, T, A, and a theoretical value D1 obtained from shoulder R Rd of the die 7a and tip R Rp of the punch 5a. Then, the distance of approach D of the punch 5a to the groove of the die 7a is determined and thereby a connection adjusting mechanism of the two is controlled.
