Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve a discharging performance, to prevent a liquid leakage through suppressing expansion as well as deformation due to a discharge and to raise a productivity of a flat battery by providing a hole in a positive pole and arranging a liquid holding material in the hole. CONSTITUTION:A positive pole 8 of a battery in a battery case 9, blocked with a closure 2 through a gasket 4, is provided with a hole 11 in which a liquid holding material 10 is arranged. For instance, after pouring an electrolyte into the hole 11 made in the positive pole 8 arranged in the case 9, a liquid holding material 10 is inserted into the hole 11. Then, the electrolyte is further poured on the material 10 in the hole 11. Through this process, a time is shortened for an impregnation of the positive pole with the electrolyte. This results in shortening of a time of the battery case and the like being exposed to the electrolyte with which the positive pole is not impregnated yet. This further leads to a raise of leak proofness against liquid, prevention of a deflection of a battery due to an expansion of the positive pole caused by a progress of a discharge, improving productivity of the battery.
