Abstract
PURPOSE:To eliminate occurrence of luminous unevenness, by dividing segment electrodes into groups and applying suitable potential to these of the electrodes. CONSTITUTION:Of the segment electrodes 2a, 2b, 2c... numbering (n) in a line or (m) in a row, segment electrodes placed with a space of every four segments are connected in common to divide the segments into four groups. Neighboring two grid electrodes are selected and applied + potential, simultaneously an intermediate grid electrode of the four segment electrodes at a face-to-face position to the above selected two grid electrodes is selectively applied + potential to emit light. Accordingly both effects, being weakly influenced by the grid electrode at - potential and strongly influenced by the grid electrode at + potential, can eliminate luminous unevenness.
