Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a molded coal of a high density simply in a high yield with less pulverizing rate by a method in which a molded coal for charging in a coke oven, containing a weakly caking coal, is molded using a water-soluble powdery binder at ordinary temperature by means of a molding machine installed on the ground.
CONSTITUTION: A molded coal for charging in coke oven, containing a weakly caking coal, is mixed with a water-soluble powdery binder in an proportion of 0.1W2pts.wt. on the basis of 100pts.wt. the molded coal and then made into molded coal at the ordinary temperature for the manufacture of coke for blast furnace by means of a molding machine installed on the ground. Thus, the bulk density of the molded coal is increased because of partial breakdown while being passed through the junctions of belt conveyer and chute during the transfer to the coke oven. Also, the water-soluble powdery binder to be added is easy to handle, and also the molding operation is easy because the molding machine installed on the ground is used. Accordingly, a molded coal having a high bulk density and less sulfur content as well as a high flexible respondence to more or less increased moisture can be obtained with a lessened pulverizing rate in a high yield even for mlding coal of a grain size of 25mm or more.
