Abstract

PURPOSE:To suppress a random noise by adding and reproducing many identical signals in phase by using reproducing heads and a delay device. CONSTITUTION:To reproduce information from the prescribed track of magnetic tape 1, reproducing heads 3 and 4 are arranged; information reproduced by reproducing head 3 is inputted to adder 5 via delay device 6, and information reproduced by reproducing head 4 is also inputted to adder 5 as it is. The delay time of delay device 6 is set to the time required for the run of magnetic tape 1 between reproducing heads 3 and 4, and consequently the same information is inputted at the same time to adder 5, whose output is made into a sound through amplifier 7 and speaker 8. The sum signal by adder 5 consists of two nearly-equal signals superposed in phase, so adding random noises increases the amplitude by 21/2 times, providing suppression.
