Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the engine cooling efficiency and to prevent engine vibration from being transmitted directly to the body of a radiator, by supporting the engine and the body of the radiator independently from each other, and connecting them by the use of resilient hoses.
CONSTITUTION: A hose 19 connected at one end thereof to an inlet pipe 18 is connected at the other end to the upper end of a water collecting pipe 20 which is opened at the other end in a water jacket 2. On the other hand, a hose 22 connected at one end thereof to an outlet pipe 21 is connected at the other end to a recirculating port 23. Therefore, the body 11 of a radiator is supported independently from the engine. Since cooling water in water jacket 2 is heated and boiled at the top of the cylinder, heated cooling water is directed toward the water collecting pipe 20 and carried successively into the hose 19. Then, the heated cooling water is carried via an upper chamber 15a to a tank 16 and a lower chamber 15b, and thereafter recirculated to water jacket 2 via the hose 22.
