Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent occurrence of the steam whirl vibration of a rotor in a steam turbine in which cascades of rotor blades and stator blades are disposed alternately along the axis of the rotor, by providing a resilient vibration absorbing member at a portion in the inner wall surface of a stationary member facing the outer peripheral surface of the cascades of the rotor blades.
CONSTITUTION: A cascade 3 of rotor blades is fixed to a rotor disk 2 and a shroud ring 4 is attached to the cascade 3. A groove 15 is formed at a portion of a diaphragm 10 facing a tenon 5 for placing three corrugated plates 16 made of a resilient material in the groove 15. Energy of changing pressure of the steam entering into a space 14 is converted into heat energy by the frictional movement of the resilient plates 16, and the heat energy thus produced is released to the outside. Thus, since the energy of the changing steam pressure in the space 14 is released effectively, the rotor (1) vibrating force is reduced extremely, so that the rotor 1 can be protected against the steam whirl vibration.
