Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the titled particulate elastomer crosslinked uniformly with a given degree of crosslinking without causing deterioration resulting from blending, by impregnating a particulate composite material of a monoolefin copolymer rubber and a polyolefin resin with a crosslinking agent in an aqueous medium, followed by crosslinking.
CONSTITUTION: Monoolefin copolymer rubber, amorphous random copolymer, obtained by copolymerizing tow or more monoolefins, and, if necessary, copolymerizable polyene, is blended with a polyolefin resin in molten state to give a particulate composite material, which is suspended and dispersed in an aqueous medium. Under conditions not causing the decomposition of a crosslinking agent, a necessary amount of the crosslinking agent is added to the suspension and blended so that the rubber ingredient of the particulate composite material is impregnated selectivily and uniformly with the crosslinking agnet, and the suspension is heated to crosslink the composite material partly.
EFFECT: An amount of the crosslinking agent is controlled accurately. Furthermore, it can be absorbed selectivily on the rubber ingredient, so the deterioration of the polyolefin ingredient resulting from crosslinking is reduced extremely.
