Abstract

PURPOSE:To accomplish remarkable improvement of the productive efficiency and reduction of the cost of equipment by a method wherein vacuum molding of an outer skin and molding of a foamed synthetic resin layer are carried out in the same segmental dies. CONSTITUTION:The material of an outer skin 11a in a sheet form is put on segmental dies 21, 22, heated and vacuum-molded in a cavity form. Then, a metallic supporting bar 13 is inserted in a notch 32 for fixing the metallic supporting bar and a hollow core body 15 is fixed in the die 21 by pinching the metallic supporting bar in a clamp 36. Then, the molding outer skin 11a is folded in the dies 21, 22 as it is held with an inserting member 15 there. After the dies 21, 22 are piled up, foaming synthetic resin is injected from an injecting inlet 30 into the outer skin 11a and molded. Simultaneously, the excessive portion of the molded outer skin 11a in the contact part of the dies is melted and welded by die edges 24a, 25a to make the product shape. By this melting and welding one hollow outer skin 11 is obtained from the molding outer skins which has been divided into two parts.
