Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent adhesive layers from strain due to a heat cycle by a method wherein spacers having a low coefficient of thermal conductivity and porous heat- transmitting plates having a high coefficient of thermal conductivity are stacked alternately, and headers are fastened to both ends of the stacked body by bolts made of high-polymer composite material which is thermally deformed in an amount nearly equal to the amount of thermal deformation of the stacked body.
CONSTITUTION: The spacers 3 having the lower coefficient of thermal conductivity and the heat-transmitting plates 2 having the higher coefficient of thermal conductivity and being provided with paasages for high-temperature and low-temperature fluids are stacked alternately to form the stacked body 1, and the headers 8 are fastened to both ends of the stacked body 1 by the bolts 9. The bolts 9 are provided with core wires 16 of metallic material embedded in a base material of the high- polymeric material filled with glass fibers or the like, so that the coefficient of thermal expansion of the bolts is substantially equal to that of the stacked body 1. Accordingly, the amount of thermal deformation of the bolt becomes nearly equal to that of the stacked body, so that the thermal strain due to the heat cycle can be prevented from being generated.
