Abstract

PURPOSE: A preliminarily dosed medicine preparation that is made by dissolving water-soluble and orally administered major components, a gelation agent, additives in water by heating, putting the solution into vessels of a prescribed dose capacity and gelling it by cooling, thus being very convenient in carrying it in pocket and ready to be taken.
CONSTITUTION: A composition containing a dose amount of water-soluble and orally administered major components, a gelling agent that is chemically inert to the major components and medically acceptable, when necessary, sweeteners or flavors and water is heated to form a solution. The example of the major component is a water-soluble essence of herb medicines, vitamins or aminoacids. The gelling agent is, e.g., agar, arrow-root starch. Then, the solution is put into sealable vessels with a capacity of containing a prescribed dose and cooled to give the jelly preparation of preliminarily dosed medicine. Since it is jelly, it can be directly administered and further, it is different from a water-based composition to be lowered in bitterness and astringency, whereby it is readily taken.
