Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a glass fiber reinforced denitration catalyst by napping the constituting monofilaments of one side of a roving cloth made of glass fibers and mounting a metal base body on the inner side of this napped surface.
CONSTITUTION: This is a catalyst consisting of a metal base body for holding a desired shape, a glass fiber product for holding the fine particles mounted to the metal base body, the TiO2 carrying particles held on the glass fiber products and further a catalyst component, wherein the constituting monofilaments of one side of the roving cloth made of glass fibers is napped to a napped roving cloth, which is mounted to the metal base body with the napped side brought on the inner side. This catalyst is used for the denitration catalyst for selective reduction by the ammonia of the nitrogen oxide in exhaust gases and is reinfored by the glass fiber product, hence it has excellent vibration resistance and abrasion resistance.
