Abstract

A method of processing diamonds consisting in contacting the diamond with a pattern at a temperature within a range of 600 to 1800`C, both the diamond and the pattern having the same temperature, whereas the pattern is made of a metal or alloy dissolving the carbon of the diamond at the temperature of contacting and the contacting itself is carried out either under vacuum, or in the atmosphere of an inert gas or in the atmosphere of a gas non reacting with the diamond at the temperature of contacting but reacting, at the same temperature, with the diamond carbon dissolved in the metal or alloy.
