Abstract
PURPOSE: To adjust the relative positions of an object and a base easily and surely by making all the adjustment of the relative positions of the base and the object mounted to the base by means of adjusting screws and providing a locking mechanism which locks the screws after the adjustment.
CONSTITUTION: If the external thread 13 of a vertical adjusting screw 11 is turned, an optical part case 1 oscillates vertically and this makes possible the vertical adjustment of the optical axis. If the left-handed screw 18 of a horizontal adjusting screw 16 is turned, it turns out that a moving block 20 moves the horizontal adjusting screw 16 to the left or right. The block 20 oscillates the case 1 laterally, and this makes possible the lateral adjustment of the optical axis. After the optical axis angles of a light transmitter and a photodetector are adjusted by means of the adjusting screws 11 and 16 in this way, a lock bolt 26 is locked up. Then, the block 20 elastically deforms in the direction of decreasing the width of split grooves 23, 24, and the diameters of an insertion hole 21 and a tapped hole 22 decrease, thereby disabling the turning of the adjusting screws 11 and 16. Hence, the optical axis angles after the adjustment are maintained surely.
