Abstract

PURPOSE: To allow the driver to realize a steering reaction and obtain high speed stability, by such a flow controller that a flow rate of fluid fed to a power steering device is lowered as pump speed of rotation increases to suppress the resetting even if load pressure increases.
CONSTITUTION: Pressure fluid from a pump is fed to a power steering device from a delivery port 12 through a supply passage 15 and throttling passage 28. If rotational speed of the pump increases (an automobile is shifted to a state of high speed driving), the displacement of a spool valve 17 is caused so as to further widely open a bypass passage 16 and a conrol rod 27 is operated to reduce the throttling passage 28, resulting in the flow reduction of fluid to the power steering device. Further even if load pressure is generated, the control rod 27 correspondingly makes the relative displacement for the spool valve 17 against the tension of springs 31, 32, and this causes the flow rate down characteristic to be lasted. Accordingly the driver can be aware of a steering reaction to ensure high speed stability.
