Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide the titled apparatus having good volumetric efficiency of a furnace, by connecting a secondary quancher to a cracking module having a particular structure.
CONSTITUTION: A header 4 is connected through pipe lines 3, 3' to a high-temperature heating coil 2 provided within an exhaust gas passage of a thermal cracking furnace 1. Four small-diameter U-tubes 5aW5d are suspended from the header 4. Forked piping members 6a, 6b are jointed to the end parts of the U-tubes to form two sets of U-tube assemblies. Then one end of each of U-type suspending pipes 8a, 8b is connected to each of the central nozzles 7a, 7b of the members 6a, 6b. To the other end is connected each of medium-diameter pipes 9a, 9b which are suspended. A forked pipe member 10 is connected to the lower ends of the medium- diameter pipes 9a, 9b. A transport pipe 11 is connected to the pipe member 10. An inversed U-type first quencher 12 is connected to the pipe 11 to form a cracking module 13. The module 13 is connected through a pipe 14 to an assembled member 15 composed of two assembly headers 15a, 15b and a T-type members 16. The member 15 is connected to a secondary quencher 17.
