Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a coating compsn. producing a coating film which excels in reflectivity against solar radiation and has excellent durability, wear resistance, impact resistance, nonslip properties, beautiful appearance, etc., consisting of a fibrous alkali metal or alkaline earth metal titanate, an inorg. filler and a binder.
CONSTITUTION: There is provided a compsn. consisting of a fibrous alkali metal or alkaline earth metal titanate, an inorg. filler and a binder. Potassium titanate has a high titanium oxide content, exhibits high whiteness and has large aspect ratio, and thus the compsn. contg. potassium titanate produces a coating film having excellent reflectivity againt heat radiation and high strength. Hence, as the fibrous alkali metal or alkaline earth metal titanate, potassium titanate is particularly preferred. As the inorg. filler, sintered, materials having a high refractive index and plate minerals are preferred. Examples of the binders are an ag. emulsion of resins, water-soluble resins and inorg. binders.
