Abstract

PURPOSE: To exactly grasp the sintering speed and make the operational control of a sintering machine much easier by providing a case fitted with a temperature sensor to one grate bar inside the pallet of a Dwight-Lloyd process sintering machine.
CONSTITUTION: At least one of a great number of grate bars constituting the pallet of a Dwight-Lloyd process sintering machine is provided upwardly with one or two or more cases 3 fitted with the temperature sensors 4a and 4b, e.g., thermocouples, etc., whose temperature-sensitive portion on its tip is slightly projected from the side of the cases 3 and arranged in almost parallel with the surface of the grate bar 2. With the temperature sensors 4a and 4b, the temperature inside the sintering layer is measured by a temperature-measuring means 6 to obtain the temperature distribution in the sintering layer, the sintering speed of ores being sintered is continuously grasped by an arithmetical unit 7, and then thereby the sintering condition of the sintering machine is properly controlled to stabilize the sintering operation.
