Abstract

PURPOSE: To lower the running costs of a steam plant, by reducing consumption of make-up water (demineralized water) and cooling water by sending excessive steam to a condenser provided separately of a condenser in the main steam line, and utilizing the same after condensation.
CONSTITUTION: Steam produced in a boiler 1 performs work in a steam turbine 3 for driving a generator 4 and then is cooled in a condenser 5 by cooling water circulated through a cleaning tower 12, pump 13 and supply pipe 14. After the steam is thus condensed in the condenser 5, it is recirculated to the boiler 1 via a condensate pump 6, deaerator 8 and feed water pump 10. In such a steam plant, there is provided a damp condenser DC27 to serve as an excessive steam condenser. The damp condenser DC27 is disposed in a damp steam pipe 30 having a damp steam control valve 29, and the outlet of the condenser DC27 is connected to the deaerator 8 via a drain pump 31 and a selector valve 24 for the drain recovered from the deaerator 8. Further, a drain recovering pipe 32 is connected to a drain tank 35.
