Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the power of auxiliary machinery in the halt of the plant by pumping-up sealing steam from a condenser by a water pump 20 having a small capacity in the stop state of the plant.
CONSTITUTION: In the stop state of the plant, a portion of the sealing steam supplied to a packing part 3 from an auxiliary steam system flows into a condenser 4 in low pressure, and the rest sealing steam is supplied to a grand condenser 6 through a grand exhaust pipe 5 from outside the packing part 3. The sealing steam which flows into a condenser 4 is pumped-up by a small capacity water pump, and through the cooling system 21, exchanges heat with the cooling water which passes through cooling narrow pipes 19 and forms condensed water to be stored in a hot well. The cooling water having performed heat-exchange is discharged to a drainage canal through a return system 22. Thus, the retention of vacuum in the condenser is enabled without operating a circulation water pump 8 which necessitates large power consumption.
