Abstract

PURPOSE: To impart a rigidity enough for resisting against an external pressure from a primary side by providing a pipe plate having a pipe hole which functions as a pipe with an opening the diameter of which is larger than that of the pipe hole and which has an inner wall formed with a notch and tapered up to the upper end of the pipe hole and by inserting a plug having a configuration to meet the opening configuration into the opening and butt-welding the same thereto.
CONSTITUTION: The pipe plate 1 is provided with the pipe hole 1' and the opening; the diameter of the former D4 is smaller than that of the latter D0. The opening has an opening root having a thickness of T at the top and is formed with the notch which comprises an upper curved part and a lower vertical part. The inner wall of the opening is tapered at an angle θ from the bottom of the notch to the depth H from the upper surface of the pipe plate 1. On the other hand, the plug 2 is shaped to have a configuration meeting the opening configuration as described above. The plug 2 is inserted into the opening with the both tapered walls in an intimate contact and a welding is applied from the surface side of the pipe plate 1. In such a construction, the tapered part is strong enough to resist against the pressure exerted from the external.
