Abstract
PURPOSE:To design a safety device for a combusting apparatus such that incomplete combustion is not detected during the while when a burner is operated normally even if the air-fuel ratio becomes lower than 1, by forming air ports for supplying secondary air in a clamping means surrounding the head part of a sensor which produces an electromotive force by the change in the concentration of oxygen. CONSTITUTION:A safety device for a combusting apparatus of this invention comprises a sensor 2 for producing an electromotive force by the change in the concentration of oxygen, which is fixed in place by a clamping means 4 in the manner that it faces a burner 1 in the vicinity of the same. The clamping means 4 is disposed to surround at least the head part of the sensor 2 and fixes the sensor 2 by a casing 3. Here, air ports 5 are formed in the clamping means 4 for introducing air and thereby increasing the concentration of oxygen in the combustion gas. With such an arrangement, if the air-fuel ratio of pre-mixed gas supplied to the burner 1 becomes lower than 1, incomplete combustion can be detected by the sensor until the concentration of carbon monoxide reaches a tolerable limit.
