Abstract

PURPOSE: To purify waste gas contg. hydrochloric acid with good efficiency by spraying a specific amount of slaked lime slurry to the waste gas contg. hydrochloric acid to absorb hydrochloric acid, drying the gas by the heat retained in the waste gas and recovering solid particles composed of slaked lime and calcium chloride in a specific ratio.
CONSTITUTION: A waste gas 1 contg. hydrochloric acid gas is put into an evaporation reaction tower 2, and slaked lime slurry 3 is sprayed from nozzles into the tower 2, so that it is mixed in the gas. At this time, the rate of spraying of the slaked lime is made more than twice the stoichiometric amount of hydrochloric acid. In the evaporation reaction tower 2, the moisture in the slury evaporates immediately by the effect of the heat retained by the waste gas 1, and the mixed particles of calcium chloride particles and excess slaked lime particles float in the gas. This waste gas 7 is led into a dust collecting device 8, where the mixed particled are separated. The weight ratio of the slaked lime and calcium chloride in these recovered mixed particles is controlled to 1 or more.
