Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable to use the same solid image pickup element with different numbers of scanning lines, by synthesizing the 1H-delayed signal and the signal, which is not delayed, with gains different from each other. CONSTITUTION:The 1H-delayed signal and the signal which is not delayed are supplied to gain control circuits 23 and 22 where rates of amplification gains are varied by the staircase wave of the 6H period which is generated by staircase wave generating circuit 21 and has different levels at every 1H, and output signals are synthesized to shift the average maximum point to the larger side of rates of amplification gains. Consequently, the CCD of the 525-scanning line system is used as that of the 625-scanning line system.
