Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a vinyl chloride resin composition having excellent weather resistance, by adding calcium carbonate subjected to a surface reforming treatment using a specific treating agent to vinyl chloride resin.
CONSTITUTION: A surface-reformed calcium carbonate is obtained by adding to an aqueous suspension of calcium carbonate a condensed phosphoric acid, e.g., pyrophosphoric acid, metaphosphoric acid, etc., in a CaCO3/P2O5 ratio of 100/1 to 40 with stirring, followed by dehydrating, drying and grinding. Then, 100pts.wt. vinyl chloride resin is mixed with 1W150pts.wt. (preferably 10W100pts.wt.) said reformed calcium carbonate.
