Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent interference due to folded noise, by making higher the sampling frequency used for decoding than that at encoding. CONSTITUTION:Taking the sampling frequency as fS, the input analog signal is limited to the spectrum fS/2 or lower at the low-pass filter 1. When the input signal level is small, since higher frequency components are produced at encoding, the sampling frequency at decoding is taken higher than that at analog-digital conversion, e.g., 2 fS. Thus, no folded noise is produced between the spectrum 24 for encoded signal and the spectrum 25 for playback signal.
