Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to measure current value of a conductor indirectly with safety and facility and also to measure distance between a wall surface and the conductor at the same time, by using a detecting unit which is so prepared that a detecting coil of a particular length is wound on an open end, particularly, on a core.
CONSTITUTION: A detecting unit is prepared by winding a detecting coil 3 on a straight-line section of a platelike or barlike core 5 so that it can have an effective coil length L being 6 times as large as a diameter of a conductor 1 embedded in a wall surface 4. Now, by arranging the core 5 so that it can form a right angle with the conductor 1 through, which current passes measuring induced voltage by the flux with a voltmeter V connected to the detecting coil 3, preparing in advance calibration curves for an induced voltage and a distance (h) between the conductor 1 and the core 5, and tracing on the calibration curves the voltage measured by the voltmeter V, it is possible to measure indirectly with safety and facility the value of current passing through the conductor 1, and at the same time, it is also possible to measure a distance between the wall surface 4 and the conductor 1. Further, even if position of the core 5 is to be shifted a little due to a specifically set effective coil length L of the detecting coil 3, it is still possible to conduct an accurate measurement.
